Overview
The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms (Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 and Human Resources (HR) 9.0). The downtime will occur on Friday, May 5, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply a maintenance pack upgrade.
Benefit:
- Removing non-matriculated programs from appearing in EAB Navigator
- Masking banking routing and account information for direct deposit administrative pages in CS
- Correcting security profiles in HR
- Including additional eligibility criteria for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) requirements
What Can You Expect
Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) will not be available during the maintenance window.
Affected applications include:

- Gator Scheduler
- Accept Admission Offer

Overview
To improve security, ITS will update the Nagios software to the latest version on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 10 p.m. -10:30 p.m.
What Can You Expect
Nagios monitoring and the https://nagios.ops.sfsu.edu will not be available during the maintenance window.

This update made to the Nagios Software will improve security on nagios.ops.sfsu.edu.

Overview
On Friday, April 21, 2023, at 8 p.m., ITS will implement a new GlobalProtect client version 5.2.12 to enforce security.
Benefit:
The new version of GlobalProtect will enable more settings for a thorough client security check.
What Can You Expect
Upon connecting to VPN, once the new version goes live, users will be prompted to upgrade their GlobalProtect client to the latest version, 5.2.12.

Overview
The certificate on the WiFi client authentication system will expire soon. ITS will install a new certificate to replace and update the old one on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 9 p.m. until midnight.
Benefit:
ITS will update the WiFi Authentication System with a current certificate.
What Can You Expect
Depending on their operating system, some WiFi clients may receive a new certificate warning. Users can establish the WiFi connection once they accept the new certificate.

Overview
ITS will apply monthly Windows security updates and critical updates on Windows servers on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 6 p.m.-midnight. The latest Windows security patches fix the vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers.
What Can You Expect
During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server is rebooted. Each server is expected to be unavailable for less than 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

The SF State Web Application server (webapps.sfsu.edu) will undergo scheduled maintenance on Thursday, April 14, 2023, from 10 p.m. - 10:20 p.m.

Benefit:
This patch includes the 2023-24 Cal State Apply mid-cycle updates, such as items related to residency logic, Golden 4 for test scores, and Educational Opportunity Pathway (EOP) recommendation data.

Overview
ITS is renewing the security certificate for our domain controllers, which serve the LDAP/LDAPS connections, on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 8 p.m. – midnight. This change will impact system services that connect to Active Directory via LDAPS. End users or clients should not experience issues with their connectivity to SFSU resources. ITS has coordinated with the service owners on this change.
Benefit:
This change will ensure a secure connection to domain controllers in ad.sfsu.edu. Replacing this certificate enables encrypted communication between applications and domain controllers.
What Can You Expect
It is unlikely that this change could impact any applications that connect to domain controllers in the ad.sfsu.edu domain, such as secure LDAP. The applications require manually importing a new certificate. End users or clients should not experience issues with their connectivity to SFSU resources. Overview
The CSU internet service provider CENIC will update the configuration on one of the edge routers on March 27, 2023, between 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. CENIC is SF State’s primary internet connection. The connection will switch to a secure backup connection during this time. There is no outage expected to impact end users.
Benefit:
This configuration update will ensure a better quality of service on the CENIC edge router.
What Can You Expect
End users should not experience outages during maintenance, as the SF State internet connection will run on a backup link.
