Support:

If you experience issues or have questions, please contact the ITS Service Desk at service@sfsu.edu or 415-338-1420.

Overview:

Twilio is currently experiencing outages to several of their services, 2 of which impact SF State:

1. Twilio’s FLEX service, used for Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) services, is experiencing intermittent disruptions.
2. Twilio’s SMS messaging service is also experiencing intermittent issues.

What Can You Expect:

Twilio’s FLEX service issues impact the following SF State team’s ACD services: Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC), Bursar’s Office, Academic Technology, CAPS-Counseling, Graduate Division GRAD (DIV), Registrar Staff, SAEM-Admissions, SAEM-DARS, SAEM-FinancialAid, SAEM-IntlAdmissions, SOS_Outreach, SOS_Tours, and Veterans Queue. These impacted teams may not be able to use their ACD service until Twilio restores FLEX services fully.

Twilio’s SMS messaging service is one of the authentication methods on SF State’s Guest WiFi. Users of SF State Guest WiFi can alternately use an email address when authenticating on SF State Guest WiFi. Twilio’s SMS messaging service using AT&T cellular network in the United States is also currently not working. Therefore, any user trying to connect to SF State Guest WiFi and using AT&T cellular service for SMS authentication may experience problems.

Twilio has not advised an estimated time of restoration (ETR) for their FLEX or SMS services. ITS will provide updates as we receive them from Twilio.
